Church of St Matthew

Church of St Matthew
A Grade II Listed Building. The Church at Marstow was originally called St. Martins and was sited lower down the valley where it regularly flooded.
In 1855 the old Church was demolished and the new Church of St. Matthew’s was built at Brelston Green and consecrated in 1857
In 2020 we were subcontracted by IJ Preece  a specialist conservation company with an incredible reputation, to undertake significant repairs to the stone fabric.
Considerable replacements to buttress quoins on the Nave west, string sections on the east Chancel. General walling stone replacement where needed. The removal of weep holes on west elevation and the Cross on the east gable.
