Mid Victorian Mansion

Mid Victorian Mansion
A grade two listed, mid Victorian mansion, between Church Stretton and Ludlow in Shropshire. The property was rebuilt in 1856 following a fire. The present mansion was built on the site of the old hall by William Sitwell in 1875. The hall was then abandoned in 1946 after brief use by the War Department during the war.
The property was a priority for Shropshire’s Listed Building Department and in 2006 a four year restoration programme by the new owners began.
From a stone masonry involvement we replaced and repaired significant quantities of the decaying Bath stone mullion windows, corner quoins, balustrade, window and door surrounds, stone coping, parapet copings and architectural details.
